Open day activity in the framework of the project IPATECH

On April 15th, 2015 at the premises of the Food Technology Laboratory, the Albanian Development Fund in cooperation with the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food at the Agricultural University of Tirana organized "The Open Day" for the application of miniature technologies in the sector of agro-processing. Present at the event were Mr. Edmond Panariti, the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Water Administration, Mr. Benet Beci, the ADF Executive Director, university professors, farmers, representatives of agro-processing business and students.

This activity is organized in the framework of IPATECH project, financed by IPA Adriatic CBC Programme. The project aims at introducing new affordable technologies by small and medium enterprises, in order to enable their insertion to the market with high competitiveness. In the context of this project, the ADF has equipped the Food Technology Laboratory with a miniaturized dairy processing equipment line. The installed line is available to all farmers, students, SMEs which want to experiment and apply new technologies of milk processing.
By promoting this activity on a large scale the Open Day aims to demonstrate the experience gained over a period of several months of experimentation.
Having visited the premises of the Laboratory, the participants assisted in the demonstration of the new line of dairy processing machinery and tasted some of the milk by-products, made by this technology.
Through EU funding, the ADF is implementing several development projects in infrastructure, tourism, cultural heritage.
